Today, despite whatever you are facing in life, take time to hear Jesus. If you are concerned about symptoms in your body, keep hearing and hearing about how our Lord Jesus loved to heal and still heals today.
Hear how He bore the cruel Roman lashes for you, so that by His stripes, you are healed (Isa. 53:5). Hear how He went about doing good and healing ALL who were oppressed (bodily, emotionally, and mentally) by the devil (Acts 10:38, Matt. 9:35).
Hear how when He saw the crowds waiting for His healing touch, He was moved with compassion—He didn’t see them as people with impossible demands, but as sheep without a shepherd (Matt. 9:36). And hear how He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8). Faith will infuse your spirit, and His divine healing. Health will flood every cell, organ, and system of your body!
Do you know if you listen regularly, you will not worry?
Beloved, if you are anxious about the needs and demands of tomorrow, keep hearing how God is for you and not against you. Hear how He has freely given you ALL things through Christ (Rom. 8:31–32), so that all you need to do is to freely receive ALL of His blessings, including the favor, wisdom, healing, and supply you need for whatever challenge you may be facing.
Hear the Son remind you of your loving heavenly Father. He knows your every need and promises He will take care of you as you cast your cares on Him and simply seek first His gift of righteousness (Matt. 6:31–33).
My dear friend, as you listen and become established in His grace toward you. Every worry and anxiety will evaporate like mist as the morning sun comes up. And you will see His fresh supply of favor for every new need.
And if you’ve experienced the sting of betrayal, if you’ve been hurt by the words of people close to you, or if you are just feeling plain discouraged, hear the Lord’s words of affirmation. Hear Him say to you, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Let these words restore your heart. It will bring stability to your emotions, and give you the faith. You can boldly say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Heb. 13:5–6).
My friend, to really grow in grace and see its fruit manifest in our lives, we need to keep hearing the Son and His words of grace.This is because it is so easy to slide back into being law- or demand-conscious. Which is opposed to being grace- or supply-conscious. Hear Him today. Hear His words of grace!

1. Enjoy delicious Malaysian food in Malacca
Malaysian cuisine is a delightful tapestry of flavors, influenced by a diverse array of cultures including Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous communities. Savor the crispy Roti Canai, a flaky flatbread often enjoyed with dhal or curry, or indulge in Char Kway Teow, stir-fried rice noodles with prawns, cockles, and bean sprouts, infused with smoky wok hei flavor. In a rush to work and unable to cook because I stayed at hostels, I turned to Malaysian restaurants in Malacca to tame my hunger. Each meal offered a distinct experience, showcasing the diverse flavors of Malaysian cuisine. Although I ventured into an Indian restaurant once, the strong aroma of curry was too overpowering for me. Nevertheless, there’s always something to satisfy your cravings, whether you’re in the mood for local specialties or international fare.
2. Go birdwatching at the park
Birdwatching offers a myriad of advantages, both for physical and mental well-being. Engaging in this activity allows individuals to connect with nature, providing a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Spending time outdoors while observing birds promotes relaxation and reduces stress levels, contributing to overall mental health and happiness.
Moreover, birdwatching fosters a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the environment. By observing birds in their natural habitats, enthusiasts develop a greater understanding of ecosystems and biodiversity. This heightened awareness often leads to a desire to protect and conserve natural habitats, contributing to the preservation of delicate ecosystems for future generations to enjoy.

One evening after work, I found solace in sitting at a park in Malacca, observing the birds as they moved, sang, and ate. Their tranquil presence reminded me of a Bible verse. Matthew 6:26-27, “Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? As I left the small park, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the abundance of blessings in my life, particularly for the gift of food and life bestowed upon me by God.
3. Join the locals for a night life relaxation on the street.
Malacca’s nightlife offers a blend of vibrant energy and historical charm, creating an unforgettable experience for visitors. As the sun sets, the riverside comes alive with bustling activity, illuminated by the glow of colorful lights reflecting off the water. Jonker Street transforms into a bustling hub of activity, with its lively night market offering a plethora of street food, souvenirs, and live performances.
Travelers can immerse themselves in the city’s rich culture as they explore the vibrant night markets and soak in the lively atmosphere.
For those seeking a more laid-back evening, Malacca boasts a variety of bars and cafes tucked away in its historic streets. From trendy rooftop bars offering panoramic views of the city to cozy cafes serving up artisanal coffee and live music, there’s something to suit every taste. Whether you’re sipping cocktails by the river or enjoying a quiet evening stroll through the illuminated streets, Malacca’s nightlife promises an enchanting blend of modern entertainment and historical charm.

What did I do?
Why spend every night alone at the hostel when the streets are brimming with life and smiles waiting to be discovered? Intrigued by the Malaysian way of life, I decided to venture out a few nights to immerse myself in the local culture. Each night on Jonker Street was a lively spectacle, with people of all ages gathering to sing and dance karaoke. I was amazed to see older people taking turns on a large stage, singing with unabashed joy, their voices harmonizing in a beautiful cacophony.
The crowd sitting around cheered and applauded so enthusiastically that I couldn’t help but join in. Although I couldn’t understand the language of their songs or conversations, the infectious energy and warmth of the moment filled me with joy and left me smiling as I returned to my hostel at 10 pm.
Many of them were drinking and eating at the same time. I don’t drink alcohol so I only sat to be entertained.
4. Ride the decorated tricycles in Malacca
In Malacca, decorated tricycles, known locally as “beca” or “trishaw,” add a whimsical charm to the city’s streetscape. These colorful and elaborately adorned tricycles serve as a popular mode of transportation and a unique tourist attraction. Each trishaw is a work of art, adorned with vibrant decorations, intricate designs, and sometimes even flashing lights and music systems.
The tricycle drivers, often called “beca men,” take great pride in their vehicles, meticulously decorating them to attract passengers and stand out amidst the bustling streets of Malacca. From floral motifs to cartoon characters, historical scenes to pop culture icons, the designs on these tricycles reflect the creativity and personality of their owners. Tourists can hop on these whimsically decorated tricycles for a fun and memorable ride through the city’s historic quarters, soaking in the sights and sounds of Malacca in style.
As they pedal through the streets, the decorated tricycles not only offer transportation but also serve as moving works of art, adding to the vibrant atmosphere and charm of this historic city.

Riding on these decorated tricycles was simply irresistible, even though my workplace was often within walking distance of my hostel. The experience was truly unique, a burst of life in this enchanting corner of Malaysia. From the upbeat music to the singing drivers, every moment was filled with vibrancy and excitement. These are just a few of the delightful memories I’ll always cherish from my trip to Malaysia in 2018. I’ve said this time and time again, and time and time again, I’ve also seen this principle borne out in people’s lives: Right believing always produces right living. This means that if you want to see right living in your life, you need to understand the importance of believing right. When you believe right, you can’t help but live right.
You see, people are struggling to control their behaviors and actions because they don’t have control over their emotions and feelings. They don’t have control over their emotions and feelings because they don’t have control over their thoughts. And they don’t have control over their thoughts because they are not controlling what they believe.
What you have believed will affect how you feel.
The converse is true. When you begin to believe right about God and in His love for you, you begin to change the way you see yourself and your situation. You’ll stop feeling hopeless. You’ll begin to lose your fears. And you’ll respond differently to negative people and situations.
This is why God wants you anchored in the powerful truths of His Word to believe in His love for you. Your heavenly Father wants you to believe that He is for you and not against you.
He wants you to know and believe that He is on your side, rooting for your success and propelling you toward your breakthrough with His love and tender mercies. He wants you to open your eyes to see what He sees when He looks at you—His beloved child.
My friend, I encourage you to take time to meditate on the truths in each of the daily readings we’ve selected. I believe that as you do, you’ll see old defeatist thinking habits falling away. You’ll find the most stubborn of addictions supernaturally annihilated. And you’ll find a confident expectation of good for your future and destiny in Christ strengthening your heart and creating amazing days ahead for you!
Situated along the shores of Lake Victoria, Entebbe Beach stands as a picturesque destination that encapsulates the beauty and tranquility of Uganda. Far from the bustling streets of Kampala, Entebbe offers a serene escape where locals and travelers alike can unwind and connect with nature.
Despite Uganda’s landlocked status, its beaches offered a surprising and relaxing escape during my 2022 visit. Here’s why you should consider adding them to your itinerary too.
Entebbe beach is a haven of natural beauty
Entebbe Beach boasts breathtaking vistas of Africa’s largest lake, Lake Victoria. It stretches out as far as the eye can see. The sandy shores invite visitors to bask in the sun. Equally, the gentle lapping of the waves creates a soothing ambiance.
Palm trees sway in the breeze, providing a shady retreat for those seeking respite from the midday heat. I enjoyed every minute here.
Entebbe beach
During my visit, unable to swim, I contented myself with observing others enjoying the waters. Surprisingly, I noticed a lack of tourists or a significant crowd, perhaps due to my weekday visit.
For nearly two hours, my friend and I sat by the lake, engrossed in conversation, marveling at the few Ugandan swimmers and the birds darting in and out of the salty water.
What are some activities for every adventurer at the Entebbe beach?
Beyond lounging on the beach, Entebbe offers a wealth of activities to suit every taste.
Water sports enthusiasts can indulge in swimming, kayaking, and sailing. While fishing aficionados can try their luck at catching Nile perch, tilapia, and other freshwater species. For a more leisurely experience, boat cruises around the lake provide a chance to spot diverse birdlife and enjoy stunning sunsets.
I didn’t experience either of this but I was impressed by the calmness. Maybe at other beaches in Entebbe, those activities are more prevalent.

A Cultural Melting Pot
One of my cherished activities at the beach is working. The soothing backdrop of the waves provides a refreshing ambiance. That evening, I set up my workspace at the stunning Entebbe beach, all while basking in the sight of the sun setting.

And of course, indulging in Ugandan fish was unavoidable. Opting for the BBQ or fried fish with fries, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size. Although the fries lacked the desired crunchiness, they sufficiently satiated my evening hunger. I highly recommend giving it a try. Unlike the common chili sauce in Cameroon, they served cabbage salad, adding a unique twist to the meal.
No visit to Entebbe would be complete without sampling the local cuisine. From fresh fish sourced from Lake Victoria to hearty stews and flavorful tropical fruits, the culinary scene reflects Uganda’s diverse cultural influences.
Visitors can savor traditional dishes such as matoke (steamed green bananas), luwombo (meat or fish stew cooked in banana leaves), and rolex (a popular street food consisting of eggs and vegetables rolled in chapati).
Hospitality at Its Finest
Entebbe is renowned for its warm hospitality, with a range of accommodation options to suit every budget and preference. Whether you choose a luxurious lakeside resort, a cozy guesthouse, or a rustic campground, you’ll find yourself welcomed with open arms and treated to the renowned Ugandan hospitality.
My friend and I opted not to stay at any of the picturesque resorts we passed by, but we happily paid a small fee to access the Pearl Beach Resort. I couldn’t help but smile when I noticed the beautifully decorated trash cans scattered around. This beach was unexpectedly pristine, a refreshing change. While the waves proved too strong for my non-swimming abilities, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy watching others enjoy the water.

On one section of the beach, a group of gentlemen were engrossed in lively table games, accompanied by laughter and drinks. Meanwhile, on another end, several couples were nestled together, lost in intimate conversation.
Not far away, a bamboo bar beckoned, just a few steps from the shoreline. It seemed like the area had all the elements necessary for a tranquil and enjoyable beach outing.
The recycled tire seats caught my eye with their vibrant and unique colors. It was refreshing to see such creative use of materials, adding a playful touch to the beach ambiance.

One of the most beautiful parables in the Bible is the parable of the father of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11–32). Many commentators call this the parable of the prodigal son. But the real hero of this story is the father and his love for his two sons. It’s a parable that Jesus used to skillfully unveil to us the true heart of our gracious God. It shows how loving our heavenly Father is.
Why should you read the parable of the prodigal son?
Please take a few minutes to read through the full parable. As you read through it, consider this: What is your opinion of God, especially when you’ve made a mistake? Do you see Him as an all-powerful, distant, and unfeeling judge? The one who is angry whenever you fail and who constantly has to be appeased?
Or do you know Him as your Daddy? Your Abba Father whom you can run to anytime, even when you have fallen short? Do you see Him as unwaveringly and patiently waiting for you to return to Him. And then racing down the road to meet you with tears streaming down His face. Also embracing you, and raining His kisses upon you?
As I was studying the Word, the Lord revealed to me that many believers have come to a place where they have forgotten their heavenly Father. They have forgotten about His love, His grace, and His loving-kindness.
Do you see God as your father?
They relate to God in a judicial and transactional fashion. That is they come before Him with apprehension and trepidation, presenting their failings to Him. Then they quickly leave before they get the punishment and condemnation they think they rightly deserve from Him.
They perceive Him exclusively as a God of holiness, judgment, and justice. That is, his face steely and stern, His mighty arms folded in dissatisfaction and disapproval. Equally, they see a God who is easily displeased, quick to anger, perpetually disappointed with them, and waiting impatiently to be placated.
This wrong belief of who God really is has driven many into fear, guilt, depression, and insecurity. And that is why it’s so vital we see the heart of the Father as unveiled by Jesus in this timeless parable.
Beloved, do you see His heart of love for you? There is a vacuum in our hearts that can only be filled by the Father’s love. I believe that if you would allow the Father to come into your heart today and fill you up with His perfect love, you will find the joy, confidence, fulfillment, and freedom that you have been looking for in life.
Therefore do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:31–33
When I talk about not worrying and keeping our eyes on Jesus, some people think that I am not being practical. Beloved, you can worry all you like about your current crisis, but it will not improve or change your situation one bit.
Please understand that I am not making light of what you are going through. I am just offering you the best solution I know that works. Your breakthrough will not come as a result of your struggling. It will come when you rest in the person of Jesus and His finished work.
Jesus said, “Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on” (Matt. 6:25). Now, Jesus was not saying that these things—food, drink, and clothing—are not important.
In fact, He says that “your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” But what Jesus wants us to do is to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,” and He promises that “all these things shall be added to you.”
Why does God not want us to worry?
Now, who is God’s righteousness? Jesus Christ. And who is the king of the “kingdom of God” that we are to seek? Jesus Christ (Rev. 19:16)!
Jesus was actually referring to Himself when He was preaching this. When you seek Him first in your life and make Him your priority each day, all these material provisions—what you will eat, drink, and wear—will be added to you.
God does not delight in taking things away from you. He delights in adding to you, increasing you, promoting you, and enriching you.
Psalm 68:19 says, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits.” The Lord loads us with benefits daily! That is how good our Savior is. His mercies and His unmerited favor are new every morning. That is the way to live and enjoy life, knowing that Jesus is with you and for you every step of the way.
Put Jesus first in everything that you do. Honor Him and give Him preeminence in your daily life. Partake of His finished work daily by reading His living words to you. Practice the presence of Jesus and be conscious that He is with you, the same way that Joseph in the Bible was conscious that the Lord was with Him. Jesus will bless the works of your hands, and everything you touch will indeed prosper and bring good success into your life.

To know the truth about who and what God is, we can’t go by feelings, circumstances, human conjectures, or what we may have heard someone say about God. We have to go to the source!
If you heard a rumor that someone you knew was saying horrible and negative things about you, don’t believe it immediately. Go to the source first. Ask this person if this is what they really said or if this is what they really meant.

Instead of receiving His love, grace, and forgiveness, they become afraid, distant, and fearful of Him. Instead of allowing Jesus to come into their situations, they live their lives running away, avoiding, and hiding from Him.
Come on, let’s honor God and go to the source. Look again at what the Bible says about Him in today’s Scripture reading: He is “slow to anger, and abounding in mercy . . . as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
This is our God! This is why you can always run to Him and believe that you can freely receive His help!

Kenya has long held a fascination for travelers from the West and Asia. However, I must admit, I was no exception. In August 2022, I found myself eagerly exploring the bustling cities and vibrant culture of this captivating East African nation. However, it was the coastal paradise of Diani that truly stole my heart.

As we were shown the map of the expansive grounds, we were greeted with refreshing cold lemonades—an ideal way to start our visit.
We were informed that we could enjoy snacks at the coffee shop located on the premises. Without hesitation, we ventured to the mini bakery and indulged in a variety of delightful treats.
We were enticed by the sight of crepes being freshly prepared by the servers. So naturally, we had to try them. Served hot and delicious, they were a delightful addition to our plates.

It is a thoughtful touch that added to the experience. The thick mattress ensured two nights of perfect rest. While the nightly room service spared no effort in keeping bugs and mosquitoes at bay. The spacious mosquito net provided added protection, ensuring peaceful nights free from insect bites. It was truly an awesome experience.

This naturally enhances the sense of tranquility and offering a serene backdrop for unwinding after a day of exploration.

On our first night, we were mesmerized by the soulful sounds of a talented saxophonist, setting the tone for a magical evening. However, the following night surpassed all expectations as a gifted pianist filled the air with enchanting melodies. Unable to resist the allure of his music, we found ourselves joining in, singing along to familiar tunes. The harmonious collaboration between the pianist and our impromptu choir created a truly unforgettable experience, etching memories that will stay with me forever.
What was my favorite recreational activity?

One of the highlights of my stay at this beach resort was undoubtedly the pools. I found immense joy in practicing my newly acquired swimming skills, and I couldn’t resist the temptation to spend all day in the water. The shallow depth of the pools made them ideal for leisurely spins and aquatic play, allowing me to fully immerse myself without any worries. Though it was tiring, splashing around in the pools was undoubtedly the highlight of my short but memorable stay.

One memorable day during our stay, we were invited to an outdoor cocktail gathering with the staff beside the pool. It was a wonderful opportunity to socialize, unwind, and enjoy the company of fellow guests. Meeting the director added a personal touch to the experience, and sipping on one of the tastiest cocktails made the evening even more enjoyable.
