With God’s Favor, You Can’t Help but Prosper

If you are wondering like me whethere God wants us to prosper or not, you will find this devotional by Pastor Prince extremely useful.

Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.

    Proverbs 24:16 NIV

Personally, I have had so many challenges which made me fall but I noticed, the more I trusted God, He made a way for me.

When the unmerited favor of God is upon you wherever you are, like it was upon Joseph,

    (1) you cannot help but find favor,

    (2) everything that you do cannot help but prosper, and

    (3) you cannot help but experience increase and promotion beyond your wildest imagination!

Can you see that this was the consistent pattern in Joseph’s life? It didn’t matter if he was a slave or prisoner.

Does God want you to prosper like Joseph?

The same applies to you. When the unmerited favor of God is upon you, you are like a rubber ball in a pool of water. Natural circumstances can try to push you down and keep you suppressed under water, but the unmerited favor of God will always cause you to POP right up to the top and prosper!

Don’t be discouraged by your current circumstances. I know things may sometimes appear bleak, dismal, and perhaps even devastating, but it ain’t over, my friend. I wrote this to tell you that it ain’t over! I don’t believe for one moment that among the millions of articles in publication right now, you are reading this particular one by chance or coincidence. This is a divine appointment and I believe that God is saying this to you: “Don’t give up. It ain’t over!” You can prosper as long as you believe in God.

Your challenges doesn’t define your prosperity

There are many times where the lowest points in your life are actually launching pads to God’s greatest promotion in your life. It was so for Joseph! Let’s rewind the tape and observe the fingerprints of the Lord through the ups and downs of Joseph’s life.

If Joseph had not been betrayed by his brothers, he would not have been sold as a slave. If he had not been sold as a slave, he would not have been in Potiphar’s house. If he was not in Potiphar’s house, he would not have been thrown into an Egyptian prison meant specifically for the king’s prisoners.

If he was not in that specific prison, he would not have interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh’s officers. If he had not interpreted their dreams, he would not have been summoned to interpret Pharaoh’s dream two years later. If he had not interpreted Pharaoh’s dream, Pharaoh would not have promoted Joseph to become his prime minister over the entire Egyptian empire!

    God wants us to prosper

This is what Pharaoh said to Joseph: “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you. . . . See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt” (Gen. 41:39–41). When we look back, it is clear that the Lord had turned Joseph’s darkest hour into his finest hour!

God’s presence with Joseph and His unmerited favor caused Joseph to be promoted from the pit to the palace, from the dunghill to Capitol Hill, from the outhouse to the White House. Stop looking at your circumstances and stop allowing them to discourage you. The same Lord who was with Joseph is with you right now. You cannot fail! You can expect to see success beyond your present circumstances!

    God is willing

Many years I lived with the fear and hopelessness that God is not happy with me after my mother died. However for the last 25 years, I realised that God is willing to restore joy and love in my life. All I needed was just to believe and reviece what he has for me. This is my encouragement with this devotional by Pastor Joseph Prince.

And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

    Luke 6:19

Trembling at the thought of being seen and stoned by the crowds, the man with leprosy crouched beneath one of the many stone slabs dotting the slopes of the picturesque hills that framed the Sea of Galilee. He had come to see the man they called Jesus, Who he had heard was a healer.

People had talked about how Jesus healed—how everyone who had gone to Him for healing received their healing. He turned none away. Whatever their conditions—fevers, paralyses, deaf ears, or demonic oppression—He healed them all.

All. That little word gave him hope that perhaps even he might be made whole. By the time he reached the hills, a large multitude had gathered on the slopes to listen to Jesus teach. This poor diseased man couldn’t see Jesus from where he was hiding in fear, but because of the unique acoustics of the hills, he could hear every word that Jesus was speaking to the multitudes:

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you” (Matt. 6:28–30 NLT).

How do we know that God is willing?

He listened attentively—the timbre of Jesus’ voice and every word He spoke carried an immeasurable depth of understanding and empathy for his everyday fears. Embers of hope that he had thought long dead suddenly flared to life, fanned by the authority of Jesus’ words. Whereas he had initially trembled from fear of being exposed, now he began trembling with a different emotion that made him listen even more fervently.

As the meaning of Jesus’ words sank in, the man with leprosy began to weep. For the first time in years, he wondered, Is this possible? That God wants to be a Father to me? A heavenly Father Who would clothe me much better than the lilies, which are better clothed than Solomon in all his glory, if I put my trust in Him? Is it possible that God is reaching out to me with kindness, acceptance, and love, and inviting me to taste and receive His goodness? After all the years of being rejected and living as an outcast, something deep within his heart broke at these new thoughts and brought on a fresh flood of tears.

Galvanized by the unmistakable compassion in Jesus’ voice that caused hope to race along every still-intact nerve in his body. The man crawled out of his makeshift shelter the moment Jesus finished speaking. He didn’t think of staying hidden. All he wanted to do was to go to Jesus and ask Him to take his disease away.

As he began to make his way to Jesus, there, coming down the hill, a man walking slightly ahead of a few others caught his eye. He realized it was Jesus, coming straight toward him.

God is willing in more ways than we know

Instead of having gone straight down to the crowds after preaching to them, the Lord had turned another way to go toward the lone, afflicted man. As if He already knew all about the man’s need and where he was. Unable to hold back his feelings, the man fell at Jesus’ feet and worshiped Him.

In a voice still choked with tears, he whispered, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Without hesitation, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” He said, with the same compassion and warmth the man had heard earlier in His voice. “Be cleansed” (Matt. 8:2–3).

As he felt the touch of Jesus’ warm hands, the man closed his eyes involuntarily. And his body shuddered under that touch. It had been so long since he had felt the touch of another human being. This is let alone a warm and loving touch.

    How did Jesus respond?

Then he opened his eyes to look at Jesus, and found Him smiling at him with love in His eyes. Sensing that something was different about his body, the man looked down at his hands, which a moment ago had been covered with open sores and had ended in stubs for fingers. His eyes beheld healthy hands with fingers fully formed and skin completely whole.

Like one in a dream, he began lifting the sleeves and hem of his robe and watched in amazement. As the cloth rolled upward to reveal smooth, unblemished skin covering his arms, legs, and feet. Jesus is willing to cleanse everyone. The power of Jesus had, in an instant, swallowed up his uncleanness.

He looked up into the face of the One Who had made him whole, overcome with gratitude. Even as he turned to go, the man knew he would never forget the compassion and encouragement. He had seen in our Lord Jesus’ face, nor His warm and affirming touch.

He has not just healed and cleansed me, the elated man thought as he walked away in wonder. He has given me back my life!

God is willing and we all need to believe him. If you want to read more, check this blog.

The best resurrection sunday reminder you need.

Below is a short email from Pastor Joseph Prince’s Gospel Partners app. I signed up to receive direct emails of encouragement and I get several daily. They are indeed a form of reminder to me about God. This resurrection sunday one left me very insipred so I thought to share.

    Dear Sarah

Have you ever experienced something so good—a beautiful view, or even just a great meal—and thought, “How I wish my loved ones were here to enjoy this with me”?

    That’s the nature of love.

When you truly love someone, you don’t just want to keep what’s good to yourself… you want to share it with your loved one. Love gives, and love delights in seeing those you love enjoy all that has been given to them.

    What does resurrection sunday mean?

That’s exactly the heart of God toward you!

From the very beginning, God created a world full of beauty, abundance, and life. The trees, the stars, the seas, every good thing had already been prepared. Then, He made man last and placed him right in the midst of His wondrous creation (Gen. 2:8–9).

Why? Because we were created to enjoy all that He is and has, to be recipients of His love and goodness.

And even when man fell, and sin came in, God’s heart of love for us never changed.

He didn’t withdraw. He didn’t turn away or say, “Well, you blew it. Now you’re on your own.”

No, God gave again. But this time, the gift was infinitely more costly.

What does the Bible say the resurrection sunday?

The Bible tells us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

    Notice that little word “so”?

God didn’t just love you and me; He so loved you and me, with such an intensity and passion, that He gave us the greatest gift heaven could offer.

He didn’t give us something He could spare.
He didn’t give us just one of his angels.
He gave us His own beloved Son, the very object of His delight.

At the cross, our Lord Jesus became the Lamb of God who took away our sins, and a beautiful exchange happened.

All that was ours… sin, condemnation, separation… He took upon Himself.
And all that is His… righteousness, favor, acceptance before the Father… was credited to our account.

He took all our rejection, so that we could be brought back to the place of freely enjoying all of God’s goodness and favor.

Today, every good thing that you need has already been provided for you through His perfect, finished work!

    What should you do?

So Sarah, as you reflect on all that the Lord has done for you this season, can I invite you to do something simple?

    Receive.

Receive His peace for your heart.
Receive His strength for the days ahead.
Receive His wisdom, His provision, His grace.

Whatever you find yourself in need of today, simply come to Him and receive. Because there’s no better way to respond to His love than to freely receive what He has already given (Ps. 116:12–13).

    🙌🏻

If this short word has blessed you, can I encourage you to catch the full Resurrection Sunday message preached by Pastor Prince on Youtube?

In this powerful sermon, you’ll discover how our Lord Jesus’ finished work has established you in righteousness, and how you can come to Him as you are to freely receive of His grace.

How to know if God loves you

God loves you more than you can imagine.

Check out this devotional written by Pastor Joseph Prince.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

    Romans 5:1–2

God’s word tells us that “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52).

This is a good verse to pray and speak over your children—that they first increase in favor with God and then in favor with man. Your “vertical relationship” with God should always be given priority over your “horizontal relationship” with the people around you.

Like Jesus, you can increase in wisdom and in God’s unmerited favor. How?

You have probably noticed that some believers seem to experience a lot more unmerited favor than others. I believe that this is because these believers understand the key to accessing God’s favor.

Romans 5:2 clearly spells out that “we have access by faith into this grace [unmerited favor] in which we stand.”

To gain access to your computer or your bank account, you need a password. To gain access to and increase in God’s unmerited favor, the “password” or key that we need to have is faith, faith to believe that YOU, _______________ (insert your name), are highly favored!

One of the things that I have taught my church members to do is to declare over themselves that they are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved.

“How do we know that we are greatly blessed, Pastor Prince?”

Read Hebrews 6:13–14 for yourself. God wanted us to be so anchored in the sure and steadfast knowledge that He will bless us, the seed of Abraham, that He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”

“How can we say that we are highly favored?”

Ephesians 1:6 tells us that by God’s grace (unmerited favor), God “made us accepted in the Beloved.” In the original Greek text, the word “accepted” is the word charitoo, which means “highly favored.”

“And are we really deeply loved by God?”

God didn’t just love us. John 3:16 says that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.” He demonstrated how He SO loved us when He sent Jesus to die on the cross for us.

I pray that the verses I have shown you here will help you believe that through Jesus, you are indeed greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved. If these truths are still not established in your heart, start speaking them.

Look at yourself in the mirror every morning and declare boldly, “Because of Jesus’ perfect work on the cross, I am righteous by His blood, and I am greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved! I expect good things to come my way. I expect good success and I have a confident expectation of good!”

Once you receive Christ, you are standing on favor ground. You are no longer on condemnation ground. God looks on you as His favorite child!

God loves you as a favorite

“But Pastor Prince, how can God have so many favorites?”

Hey, He is God. Don’t try to limit an infinite God with your finite mind.

The Bible tells us that God counts the very hairs on each of our heads (Matt. 10:30). I love my daughter very much, but I have never counted the number of strands of hair on her head.

His love for each of us is intimate and deeply personal. In His eyes, we are all His favorites!

Al lyou need to do is to believe that God loves you. He is love.

Celebrating the God-Given Value of Women

Every year on International Women’s Day, the world pauses to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women. From mothers and daughters to leaders, teachers, and creators, women play an irreplaceable role in shaping families, communities, and nations.

From a biblical perspective, the value of women is not a modern idea—it was established by God from the very beginning.

Women Were Created in God’s Image

The Bible clearly states that women share the same divine value and dignity as men because both were created in God’s image.

    Genesis 1:27
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

This verse reveals an important truth: we are not secondary in God’s design. They carry the same spiritual worth and purpose as men.

    A Virtuous Woman Is Priceless

One of the most beautiful descriptions of a woman’s value appears in the book of Proverbs.

    Proverbs 31:10
“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.”

The chapter continues to describe a woman who is wise, hardworking, compassionate, and strong. She cares for her family, manages responsibilities, and blesses those around her.

    Proverbs 31:25
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”

This passage shows that biblical womanhood is strength, wisdom, and honor.

Women Have Always Played Powerful Roles in History

Throughout Scripture, women made remarkable contributions to God’s plans.

    Esther courageously saved her people.
Deborah led Israel with wisdom and authority.
Mary carried the Savior of the world.
Mary Magdalene was among the first to witness the resurrection.

Their stories remind us that every woman has always been central to God’s work in the world.

Women can support their families with Wisdom

The Bible also recognizes the nurturing and guiding influence of women.

    Proverbs 14:1
“The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.”

Women often serve as pillars of strength within families and communities, building environments of love, faith, and stability.

Another verse highlights the power of a mother’s influence.

    Proverbs 31:28
“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”

    Proverbs 12:4
“A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.”

This verse highlights how a woman of character brings honor and strength to her family and those around her.

God has given every woman wisdom

    Proverbs 31:26
“She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”

The Bible recognizes that women are often sources of wisdom, guidance, and encouragement in their families and communities.

    Women Are Blessed by God

    Psalm 128:3
“Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.”

This verse paints a beautiful picture of the blessing and life that women bring into a home.

    Women Show Compassion and Kindness

    Proverbs 31:20
“She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.”

A godly woman is often characterized by compassion and generosity toward others.

Women Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

    Psalm 139:14
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

This verse reminds us that every woman is a unique creation by God with beauty, purpose, and value.

A Woman Who Fears the Lord Is Praised

    Proverbs 31:30
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

According to Scripture, a woman’s faith and devotion to God are among her greatest strengths.

    Celebrating Women Today

Women’s Day is more than a celebration. It is an opportunity to recognize the profound impact that this special gender makes every day.

Women nurture life, inspire change, lead communities, and preserve culture. Their strength often shows through quiet sacrifices, unwavering faith, and deep compassion.

From a biblical perspective, all females are valuable, powerful, and deeply cherished by God.

Happy International Women’s Day. May we continue to honor the beauty, courage, and wisdom of women everywhere and celebrate the incredible ways they shape our world.

What is the difference between grace and law?

Do you know there is a difference between grace and law? Here’s a short devotional from pastor Joseph Prince.

By Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

    Acts 13:39

To understand the grace of God, it is essential you understand the differences between the old covenant of law and the new covenant of grace. To help you accelerate your understanding of law and grace, I want to share with you one of my favorite scriptures. I have preached this verse around the world, from Hillsong Conference in Sydney, Australia, to Lakewood Church, in Houston, Texas.

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
    —John 1:17

The law was given through a servant. Grace and truth came through the Son. The law talks about what man ought to be. Grace reveals Who God is.

In the first miracle of Moses, he turned water into blood, resulting in death. In the first miracle of grace, Jesus turned water into wine, resulting in life and celebration. The letter (the law) kills, but the Spirit gives life (2 Cor. 3:6).

What is the major difference between grace and law?

Under the law, God demands righteousness from sinfully bankrupt man. But under grace, God provides righteousness as a gift. Now, which covenant would you like to be under? The answer is obvious!

The truth is, through the cross at Calvary, all who believe in Jesus and acknowledge Him as their Lord and Savior are under the new covenant of grace. Yet today many believers are still living in confusion, and get law and grace all mixed up by holding on to some aspects of the law and some aspects of grace in their Christian beliefs and walk.

Jesus said you cannot put new wine into old wineskins. The new wine will ferment and break the wineskins, and you will lose both (Matt. 9:17). In the same way, you cannot put the new wine of grace into the old wineskin of the law. One will cancel out the other (Rom. 11:6).

Under the law, God said, “I will by no means clear the guilty, but I will visit their sins to the third and fourth generations” (Exod. 34:7). But under grace, God says, “I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more” (Heb. 8:12).

Understanding the differences helps cement our faith

There has been a change! Can you see with absolute high-definition clarity that there has been a radical change and it is all because of Jesus?

Choose to live wholly under the new covenant of grace today. This is where through Christ’s perfect finished work at the cross. By this you have God’s righteousness as a gift. And God’s own Spirit of life leading you to victory over areas of defeat.

Knowing the key difference between grace and law is one of the easiest ways to understand the goodness and love of God.

What do you think about the blood of Jesus?

There was a time when I did not know what the main function of Jesus’ blood was or why it provided protection. I just covered everything with the blood of Jesus. Because I knew His blood protects us from the schemes of the devil. But the main reason His blood was shed was for the forgiveness of all our sinsIt’s imperative that you understand this. Because it will give you the confidence to come before the throne of God boldly and see Him as a loving Father.

“. . . for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.” Matthew 26:28 NLT

My friend, “the accuser” will come at various times to make you feel guilty. He will prosecute you for every one of your failures and make you feel unworthy to enter God’s presence. He will bring back every piece of dirty laundry, show you evidence after evidence of your failures, and condemn you for being a hypocrite. While you are trying to deal with stress and fear, the devil goes straight for the deepest root by using the law to heap guilt and condemnation on you. He knows that when you are under condemnationfear, stress, and all kinds of sicknesses will follow. So he goes straight for the jugular.

What should you do then? You should kill condemnation at its very root and eradicate it from your life. No matter what the devil condemns you of, the truth is that the blood of Jesus has been shed for the forgiveness of all your sins. There is not a sin, not one iota of guilt or condemnation that the devil can throw at you today, that Jesus’ blood has not completely removed.

Whats an example of what the blood of Jesus can do?

Iris, who lives in South Africa, has a testimony to share that demonstrates the liberating power of God’s gift of no condemnation. Growing up with alcoholic parents, Iris had suffered sexual and physical abuse at the hands of her father. And became a person with alcohol use disorder herself at age thirteen after her mother was killed in a car accident. Shortly after she was put in a children’s home at age fifteen. She started taking drugs and leading a promiscuous lifestyle.

Later in life, she got married and had three children, but her marriage failed, ultimately leading her into a downward spiral of depression and ill health. By that time, she had been born again but still had no knowledge of the love and grace of God. Only when the Lord showed her what her root problem was did real healing begin to take place:

In church, I went through months of “healing” for my brokenness and yet I couldn’t get out of the ditch I was in. Then one day, sometime in 2011, I tuned in to your television broadcast on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and heard your message about how condemnation is the root of our problems. I listened really carefully and realized that what you said was true. Every problem in my life went back to condemnation. And when I understood that and received the gift of no condemnation from the Lord, I felt, for the first time, so FREE!

Whats the final result of the testimony

From then on, I have been watching your program every night. I am so much better physically, mentally, and spiritually. What years and years of being in church could not do for me, my Daddy God did in a short time by having me watch you on TBN and by my reading your daily devotionals. I can truly say every day is a blessing to me now because of the freedom I am experiencing in so many areas, and I just want to live life giving praise to my Daddy God every day for His words of life and grace that have healed my body, my heart, and my mind. My prayer is that He will give me the same anointing that is on you to impart His love, His favor, and His grace to others.

What a wonderful testimony! My friend, receiving your freedom and breakthrough does not depend on how littered your past is with painful experiences or the mistakes you have made. Like Iris, when you receive Jesus’ grace, love, and life, you can receive the liberty and future you want to see. When you eradicate condemnation from your life, you begin to step into your freedom, healing, and breakthrough.

    Conclusion

Beloved, for every failure in thought, word, or deed the enemy brings to your mind, receive this afresh today: there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Receiving this truth and being conscious of it every day will cause you to reign over any sin, addiction, depression, or challenge that is holding you captive.

When Jesus died on the cross, all your failures were already condemned in His body. Today, you are free to live a victorious life not because of your obedience to the law, but because of your obedience of faith in Jesus’ blood and righteousness.

Grace Is a Person, Not a Doctrine

Grace Is a Person, Not a Doctrine

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

    John 1:17

Do you know what makes Christianity unique and gives it the power to free people from all fears, condemning thoughts, and addictions? Many of the world’s belief systems are governed by moral codes, rules, and laws. But Christianity is unique in that it is not about an impersonal list of dos and don’ts.

It is about having a relationship with Almighty God. And it is God working in us and for us through this relationship that brings transformation in our lives.

Beloved, God is all about having a relationship with you today. The apostle John tells us that “the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).

Notice also that the law was given. This implies a sense of distance. In contrast, grace came! Grace is personal and came as a person—the person of Jesus Christ.

    How is grace a person?

The law is hard, cold, and impersonal. You cannot have a relationship with two tablets of stone. But grace is gentle and warm. Grace is not a teaching or doctrine. Grace is a person, and you can have a relationship with a person.

God is not interested in mere obedience and submission. He is a God of love and He longs to have an intimate relationship with you.

Jesus came and died a cruel death on the cross, paying the full debt of sin with His own life so that you and I can reign in life today. His sacrifice fulfilled every requirement of the law perfectly on our behalf (Matt. 5:17 NIV). All that we were unable to do, He did on our behalf.

When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are made holy and righteous by His blood once and for all. You can enter into a relationship with Almighty God and come boldly into His presence without any guilt, condemnation, or expectation of punishment.

    Who is Jesus?

You see, when you have fulfilled your debt to the lender for the mortgage on your house. You stop sending in your monthly payments because the debt has already been fulfilled. If the lender sends you a letter demanding additional payment, all you have to do is produce the title deed to your home. In the same sense, the debt that you and I owed to the law has already been fulfilled by our Savior, Jesus Christ! Hallelujah!

When the devil comes to accuse you with the law and shows you how you have fallen short and failed, turn your eyes away from yourself and point to the payment that Jesus made on the cross. Christ is your title deed. Which is why you are called a “Christian” today.

You are not your own. You have been purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. His blood, shed for you, is what makes your relationship with God secure. It is what gives you the basis to reach out and receive your freedom from your loving Savior today!

    Get Ready to Play Offense

What does it mean to play offense? Whatever team sports you follow, you know that defense is vital. A good defensive strategy keeps you in contention, but defense alone doesn’t win championships.

The prayer of protection in Psalm 91 has many defensive elements, such as dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, abiding under the shadow of the Almighty, and taking the Lord as our refuge and fortress. We can also see how we are covered under His wings and protected by an angelic army.

Knowing that we’ve got our defensive game covered, are you ready to play some offense?

Certainly, there are times and seasons when the best thing to do is to take cover and to allow ourselves to be sheltered. The Lord is our safe house, our hiding place, and our impenetrable fortress, and I love that we get to take refuge in Him.

But the prayer of protection also declares this in verse 13: “You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.”

What does it mean to have the offense position?

That’s taking an offensive position. It means going on the attack. That’s taking authority!

In the Gospel of Luke, we see our Lord Jesus sending seventy disciples out against the kingdom of darkness, as “lambs among wolves” (Luke 10:3). Have you ever seen a lamb overpower a wolf?

Of course not. You see, this authority that we are talking about is not natural authority. Like the lamb, you and I have no power in and of ourselves. This is a supernatural authority that comes from our Lord Jesus Christ, just as the strength that enabled Samson to tear apart the young lion was a supernatural strength.

The portrayals of Samson I have seen depict a massive and muscular man. I think he could have been small and scrawny, but endued with supernatural power and might from God.

Naturally speaking, for Samson to take on the lion with his bare hands was like a lamb taking on a ferocious wolf. But we know that He who is in us is greater than any predator that is in the world. Amen!

My friend, in Christ, you are far stronger than you think you are. You may not look it or feel it, but God always uses the weak things of this world to confound the wise and mighty (1 Cor. 1:27).

Remember, the race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong. It is the Lord who ultimately determines who shall emerge victorious. And since the Lord is for you, who can be against you (Rom. 8:31)!
