    Oti’s Hair Growth Secret

Oti is a beautiful girl from a small town, 25 miles away from the bustling Gully City. Since birth, she has stood out among her peers, not only for her grace but for her long, luscious hair that seems to defy the ordinary. While many admired her hair, few dared to ask how she maintained such stunning length and shine. What they didn’t know was that Oti and her mother shared a sacred secret—a hair growth routine passed down through generations, one they performed religiously.

To Oti, it was second nature, but to the outside world, it remained a mystery.

Oti’s mother, a wise woman with knowledge passed down from her ancestors, taught her the importance of nurturing their hair. Together, they followed a unique routine that kept their hair not only long but healthy and strong.

Though Oti never openly shared her secrets, today she’s decided to unveil some of the key practices that have made all the difference to her few close friends.

What is Oti’s hair growth secret?

Oti’s mother always emphasized that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Twice a week, they would gently massage their scalps with warm coconut oil or castor oil, stimulating blood circulation and nourishing the roots. This simple practice encouraged new hair growth and kept their strands moisturized.

From a young age, Oti learned that beauty comes from within. She and her mother made sure to include plenty of leafy greens, protein-rich foods, and healthy fats in their meals. These foods, packed with vitamins like biotin, omega-3 fatty acids, and iron, played a crucial role in promoting hair growth from the inside out.

Contrary to what many believe, Oti swore by regular hair trims. Every 8 to 10 weeks, her mother would carefully snip the ends to prevent split ends from traveling up the hair shaft. This helped keep Oti’s hair looking full and healthy, without sacrificing length.

Living in a small town meant frequent exposure to the sun and wind, which could easily damage hair. Oti often wore her hair in loose braids or buns to shield it from the elements. These protective styles reduced breakage and kept her strands strong, allowing her hair to grow undisturbed.

    What else did Oti do?

One of the golden rules passed down from her mother was to avoid excessive heat. Oti would only use heat styling tools on rare occasions, opting to air-dry her hair and embrace its natural texture. This kept her hair from becoming brittle and breaking off prematurely.

Once a month, Oti’s mother prepared a special rinse made from herbs like rosemary, hibiscus, and fenugreek. This rinse was poured over their hair after washing, adding an extra layer of nourishment and leaving their hair glossy and full of life. These herbs were believed to strengthen hair roots and promote faster growth.

Oti treated her hair with care, never yanking or pulling at tangles. After washing, she used a wide-tooth comb and started detangling from the tips, gradually working her way up. This gentle approach minimized breakage, keeping her strands long and intact.

Finally, Oti and her mother believed in the power of hydration. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day kept their bodies, including their scalps, hydrated. They also applied hydrating hair masks, made from ingredients like avocado and honey, to ensure their hair remained soft and supple.

    Conclusion

These simple yet powerful habits allowed Oti to grow her hair long, thick, and healthy. Now, she hopes that by sharing her secret routine, others can enjoy the same results and embrace their hair’s full potential.

    Tamifor’s Pebbles Game

In Tamifor’s country, it rained for six months every year. Although she loved to go out to the field and play with her friends, the rainy season kept her indoors. So, Tamifor invented a special pebbles game to play with her friends on those rainy days.

One rainy afternoon, she invited her friends, Ngola and Chombe, to her house. They all sat on the veranda, listening eagerly as Tamifor explained the rules of her game.

“Here’s how you play,” she began. “You sit on the floor, spread your legs, and place seven pebbles in a line between your legs. You choose one pebble, throw it in the air, and while it’s in the air, you have to pick up one of the other six pebbles from the ground. If the pebble you threw falls to the ground or if you catch it without picking up another pebble, you lose. Then, it’s the next player’s turn.”

Tamifor continued, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “The game gets harder as you go. For the final challenge, you have to throw the seventh pebble in the air twice and catch it after picking up all six pebbles at once! I’ve already done it!”

Ngola and Chombe were eager to try. They had a bit of trouble at first, but they didn’t give up. After six rounds of mistakes, they started to concentrate and soon were catching as many pebbles as they could. Laughter and joy filled the air as they played.

After 30 minutes, Tamifor’s mother heard the children laughing loudly and having fun. After an hour and a half, their excitement and noise were so great that she couldn’t stay inside any longer. Curious, she came out to see what was happening.

With joy, all three children tried to explain the game to her. Tamifor’s mother listened with a proud smile, then gave each of them a high five and some snacks, suggesting they take a short break.

As they rested, Tamifor’s mother asked, “Tami, why did you create this game?”

Tamifor’s face lit up with happiness. “I thought it would help us learn to count,” she replied.

Her mother beamed with pride. After their break, the children eagerly ran back to continue their game, having a wonderful day despite the heavy rain outside.

    Christy’s Christmas in Cameroon

Every year, Christy’s family travels to another country for Christmas. They all pack their clothes after they have checked the season. Last year, Christy decided to have Christmas in Cameroon, an Africa country. She was delighted to learn that they will be conducting a tour of many cities.

First thing, she was surprised to find out that Christmas is in the dry (sunny) season. It was windy and hot for the two weeks that they stayed there.

One of the highlights of the trip was that they spent a lot of time at the beach, swimming and talking to new friends. The black sand at the sea was strange, but soft for her to build her sand castles.

They were surprised to see that there were no decorations on the streets. Only a few shops played Christmas carols, but a lot of people went to churches on Christmas Eve and day.

At lunchtime, most people they visited served chicken in tomato sauce with rice, plantain or yam. Neighbors shared their food with other neighbors and enjoyed eating with family. Drinks were given to everyone who visited, and it was impossible to refuse.

What do children do on Christmas day in Cameroon?

Many kids were extremely excited because they wore new special clothes and shoes. Their parents gave them only on Christmas morning as a surprise Christmas gift.

For those who didn’t live beside the ocean, they went to one day amusement parks and played many games. It was very noisy, crowded and full of fun.

The most surprising thing for Christy was that, she heard, the Muslims in three northern regions out of the 10 regions in Cameroon do not celebrate Christmas. Though they also have a public holiday, some visited their Christian friends, to eat delicious snacks and non pork meals.

On the streets, it was common to see people drinking beer at bars and watching football while joyfully yelling at the players.

The vibe of Christmas in Cameroon was different, yet they had a lot of fun memories.

    Besisy’s tale about water

Once upon a time, in a sunny village, there lived a cheerful girl named Besisy who loved to share a tale with her friends every weekend. She loved playing outside, running through the green fields and dancing with the butterflies. But there was one thing she loved even more – water!

Besisy knew that water was like magic for our bodies. It was like the superhero that kept us strong and healthy. She would often tell her friends about the wonders of water.

One bright morning, Besisy gathered her friends under the big oak tree. “Hey, everyone!” she called out, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Let me tell you a tale about why water is amazing for our bodies.”

Curious, her friends gathered around. Besisy began her story with a twinkle in her eye.

What did Besisy tell her friends?

“Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there was a kingdom called Limbe.

Everyone’s body was like a little kingdom of its own. Now, in this kingdom, the most precious treasure was water. Every morning, the people of Limbe would drink water to keep their bodies happy and healthy.”

Besisy’s friends listened intently, their imaginations coming to life.

“Now, the queen of Limbe was a wise lady named Queen Menyoli. She would remind everyone to drink water every day. She said, ‘Water is like a magic potion. It helps our bodies stay cool, our skin stays soft, and our muscles stay strong. It helps us think clearly and run faster. Water is our best friend!'”

Besisy paused for a moment, her friends hanging onto every word.

“One day, a little boy named Tonye forgot to drink water. He was playing games all day and didn’t feel thirsty. But, oh my, his body felt tired, and his head felt like a balloon. He realized he needed water, just like the plants need rain. He rushed to drink water, and guess what? His body thanked him by making him feel strong and energetic again!”

Besisy’s friends giggled, imagining Tonye’s funny adventure.

What is the lesson of the tale?

“From that day on,” Besisy continued, “everyone in Limbe remembered to drink water. They knew that water was like a magical potion that kept their bodies happy. And whenever they saw a stream or a puddle, they would smile and say, ‘Thank you, water, for making us strong and healthy!'”

Besisy’s friends clapped and cheered, excited by the tale she had woven.

And so, Besisy’s story taught her friends the magical importance of water for their bodies. From that day forward, they all promised to drink water and keep their bodies as strong as the brave people of Limbe. And whenever they felt thirsty, they would remember Besisy’s story and the incredible adventure of Queen Menyoli and her kingdom of healthy bodies.

    Dimi’s best books

Once upon a time, in a cozy little village, lived a girl named Dimi. Dimi had a heart full of curiosity and a love for something very special – books.

Every morning, after finishing her breakfast, Dimi would rush to her room and grab her favorite book-the Bible. With wide eyes and a big smile, she would dive into the words within the pages. Her mother had always told her that books were like doors to far-off places and amazing adventures.

Dimi also loved to learn about animals, different countries, and even ancient civilizations from the stories she read. She believed her books were like keys that unlocked new knowledge. Every word she read made her feel like she was exploring the world right from her own cozy corner. She read other books in the evening.

One day, as Dimi sat with a book about a family that travelled every summer, her mother walked in with a warm smile. “Dimi,” her mother said, “do you know that books are like little time machines? They can take you to the past, the present, and even the future.”

Dimi’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Really, Mom?” she exclaimed.

Why did Dimi like reading books?

Her mother nodded. “Yes, dear. When you read, you can learn about history, understand different cultures, and even imagine what the future might hold.”

From that day on, Dimi’s love for reading grew even stronger. She started reading books about explorers, brave adventurers, and clever inventors. Each story opened up a new door to her imagination.

As time went by, Dimi’s knowledge expanded. She could talk about God, countries she had never visited, understand animals she had never seen, and even dream about becoming an explorer herself one day.

And so, Dimi’s love for books continued to grow. With every page she turned, she knew she was on a journey of discovery and learning. Her mother’s words had come true – Dimi was indeed exploring the world, one book at a time.

    Why Tommy changed

Tommy, the youngest son in his family, had always enjoyed the privileges that came with being the last-born. He changed due to some situations.

He often took advantage of his parents’ love and occasionally disobeyed their instructions, staying out late to play football with his friends.

Despite his parents’ repeated reminders to return home by 5:30 pm for dinner and a shower, Tommy would sometimes disregard their rules.

Although he would apologize when his mother came to fetch him, there were occasions when he failed to admit his mistakes. His parents were patient for a changed son.

Aside from the importance of eating and showering early, Tommy’s parents were concerned about his safety.

Their small village lacked proper street lighting, and after sunset, their street became dark and treacherous.

They feared that if Tommy returned home too late, he might get lost or hurt himself on the sharp rocks that lined the road.

Tommy claimed to understand these reasons, but he seemed indifferent to the potential consequences.

Despite their expectations of a change in behavior, his parents continued to shower him with affection.

One evening, Tommy found himself in a situation where he knew his parents would be returning home late from work. He chose to stay longer and play, even after his friends had left.

Enjoying the feeling of being in control, he bounced the ball alone, disregarding the fading daylight.

When he eventually realized that he could no longer see the goal, he decided it was time to head home.

The football field was a fifteen-minute walk from his house, but by the time he reached his street, darkness had enveloped everything.

    Suddenly, fear gripped Tommy.

The usually helpful outdoor security bulbs that some of his neighbors would usually switch on were absent that day.

The street was pitch black, and Tommy felt a growing sense of panic. No one was passing by, or if they were, Tommy was too consumed by his worries to notice.

Confused and unsure of what to do, he knew he couldn’t go back to the empty football field far away.

Within a few minutes, Tommy made a sudden chnaged decision. He mustered up his courage and started running, attempting to find his way home.

His siblings were there, so he wouldn’t be alone. In his haste, stumbling in the darkness, he tripped and hit his ankle on a large, sharp stone. T

he pain was excruciating, and he couldn’t bring himself to get up. Tears streamed down Tommy’s face as he felt helpless and overwhelmed.

Fortunately, Tommy’s parents were on their way home at that very moment.

Spotting their son struggling in the darkness, his father quickly handed the flashlight to his mother and rushed to Tommy’s side.

They reassured him, urging him to stop crying, and his father gently carried him off the ground.

All the fear that had gripped Tommy vanished as he realized his parents had come to his rescue just in time.

Upon reaching home, everyone expressed their concern for Tommy. His mother bathed him, cleaned his wound, and applied a band-aid.

During this tender moment, Tommy apologized to his mother for disobeying their instructions.

She wasn’t upset, but rather relieved that he was safe and his injuries were not severe.

After dinner, Tommy sought out his father in his study.

Holding his father’s hand, he sincerely apologized for disrespecting his orders and expressed his thoughts to be a changed person.

Surprisingly, his father’s response echoed his mother’s. Tommy was taken aback.

He had expected punishment or anger for his disobedience, especially given his injury.

Drawing closer, he settled onto his father’s lap and asked him why he wasn’t more angry with him.

With a warm smile, his father replied, “Because I love you.” Tommy smiled too, although it seemed as if he was expecting a different answer.

His father continued, sharing a lesson he had learned from observing how God treats us all.

Quoting from the book of Matthew 7: 9-10, he said, “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

Tommy’s eyes widened in shock as he listened to his father’s words.

Holding him close to his chest, his father asked why he was so surprised.

Tommy explained that he had disobeyed his father on several occasions before and didn’t expect such quick forgiveness and unconditional love.

His father lovingly responded, “I forgave you, my little handsome, just as God has forgiven me many times.”

Tommy’s father went on to say, “I love you and always will, not because of what you do, but because you are God’s gift to me.

I hope you can obey me because you love me and understand that I want to protect you. I will never abandon you, especially when you are facing difficulties.”

At that moment, Tommy felt overwhelming happiness and gratitude as a changed person.

With a loving voice, he hugged and kissed his father goodnight, expressing his heartfelt appreciation for everything.

From that day forward, Tommy made a firm commitment to always return home before dusk, as his parents had instructed.

He realized that his parents’ love for him was unwavering, regardless of his mistakes.

Though he had always known this love existed, his fall in the darkness had deepened his understanding of his parents’ unwavering care.

Tommy had truly transformed, becoming a changed boy.
