Trials: How to deal with them

In the midst of what we see as the final days, trials are unavoidable. These difficulties play a role in refining us and nurturing our spiritual growth.

Despite their frequency and severity, God reminds us to hold onto our faith and happiness in Him.

The Bible offers guidance on handling trials, showing that God understands our hardships and aims to empower us.

    Bible verses about trials

    James 1:2-4

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Another relieving fact about trials is that it is never forever. It is meant to be only for a temporary short time.

    1 Peter 1:6

In all this, you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

One important way to get through trying periods is to pray constantly.

    Romans 12:12

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

In the words of Jesus, we should expect trials. They are supposed to come, but we have to be peaceful when they do. The main reason is that Jesus died on the cross for us. He took away all our past, present and future sins.

    John 16:33

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

One thing that can sustain us in this hard time is to absolutely trust in God.  The error we all make is to try to resolve everything with our physical methods and mental analysis. We cannot resolve anything with our human knowledge.

    Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

God knows all the challenges we face will surprise us. No one deliberately plans for these, but they sometimes happen in the least expected times.

    1 Peter 4:12-1312

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.13 But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

Why should we go through trials?

This question is on the lips of everyone. This is mainly because no one wants to face challenges. Did you know trials are blessings?

There is a special crown of glory for our work on earth in heaven. The only way we will receive it, is based on how we respond to trials now.

    James 1:12

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

God has prepared a greater future in eternity, far beyond what we see here now. What a privilege!

    Romans 8:18

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

A trial is a test to confirm how we trust God. If we really know and love him, we will understand that our hard times don’t change Him. He has been good and will always be good to us, regardless of how the devil tries to tempt us to deny our sonship.

Also, if we know with a strong conviction that God has a plan for our lives, we will not be worried about any situation.

    Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

One major reason we shouldn’t be upset when trials come is, God is the mighty restorer. He knows how to transform every situation in our lives and make us enter his glory if we believe in him.

    1 Peter 5:10

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

People usually say you are not the first person or the last person to go through that situation. That saying is true. There is someone somewhere experiencing the same situation.

    1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

How should we react to trials?

The best reaction is to praise God while in the trial. As hard as that can sound, it is only possible after you pray and thank God.

    1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

    Rejoice always,

    pray continually,

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

The hardest thing to do in a hard time is to abandon our worry to God. But, that is what God expects of us.

    Psalms 55:22

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Many people allow anxiety and stress to get the better of them during trials. That can be hard to control, but it is possible to face those tough days without it. The main secret to do that is prayer.

    Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

There are benefits to all the suffering. We will only develop certain virtues after we endure the trouble times.

    Romans 5:3-5

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Is there a purpose for the trials?

Is there a purpose for the trials?

If you know God very well, you will know that nothing just happens. There are no accidents with him. Everything on earth happens for a reason, and he is aware of the detail.

    Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

    Isaiah 55:8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

    Romans 8:35

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Nothing can and should separate us from God. Regardless of how we feel about our current situations, God’s goodness and love are unconditional and unchanging. Bask in the love of God thankfully and prayerfully at all times-both sad and joyful.

    The Best Protection Psalm

A psalm is a sacred song or hymn. The Book of Psalms has a list of several, but Psalm 91, remains the best for a protection prayer

    Psalm 91 (AMPC)

He who wells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!

For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

[Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

10 There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

11 For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

12 They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.

14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

What is the meaning of Psalm 91?

God’s desire is to shield us from harm, requiring our conscious seeking of His presence. Just as David boldly declared his connection with God, who is He to you? Is He your personal deity or inherited from your parents?

Amid challenges, God aims to deliver us, aware of the devil’s schemes and even modern afflictions like COVID-19. Surviving amid numerous deaths underscores His protective hand, a reason to express gratitude.

God’s plan is our safeguard, but we must actively approach Him. Trust in His unwavering Word, the Bible, and have faith in His faithfulness beyond human limits, countering Satan’s assaults.

While fear is a natural part of life, believing in God’s protection dispels it. He assures us that, despite fears, His shield prevails.

God guards us day and night, repelling the enemy’s constant threats. Amid global crises, God’s promise stands firm, and in His presence, we find our refuge.

    Why will God protect us?

God’s protection stems from unwavering trust in Him, transcending what our eyes perceive.

While challenges like COVID-19, droughts, famines, and natural disasters may shake our reliance on God, His Word affirms His ability to shield our families.

Your existence today reflects His safeguarding. Keep steadfast in your dependency on Him.

    Does Jesus understand us?

Our Lord Jesus, is the only one who will completely understand us in every aspect. Isn’t that a bold sentence to make, yes it is.

God could have saved the world without physically coming down to it. He (God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit) created the whole world with just words. He could do it and we will all be spiritually free from sin and the consequences of death.

However, he decided to come and be a man.

This decision to be a human was just to make us know that he can relate to us as a person.

The Trinity didn’t want us to have a distant relationship with him where He is in heaven, and we are here alone on earth. He wants us to experience him by physically touching him and connecting with him in ways beyond handwriting on a tablet, like he did to the people in the Old Testament.

    What does the Bible say?

    Hebrew 2:18 (AMPC)

For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].

The New Testament is a reflection of God’s unconditional love for us. His coming on earth made him experience everything we now experience. Whether it is hatred, rejection or disrespect. Jesus suffered to bear our sins, though sinless. He took the weight of all our mistakes and carried the heavy wooden cross on our behaves so that we will not be indebted by Satan and his useless lies.

From the devil himself to other people, Jesus was tempted in several ways to dishonor God. He didn’t heed to the temptations, and he counted them with the word of God. This goes to say, we cannot prevent temptations. If God was tempted for the 33 and a half years he lived here on earth, we will always be drawn. Temptation is a medium to allow us to show our devotion to God. If we have invested ourselves in knowing the word of God, no type of temptation will make us heed to sin. We will be obedient to God regardless.

I have heard people say, if God is good, why does he allow us to be tempted? That is a vaque question. God doesn’t tempt us. We have the Bible as guide and the Holy Spirit to help us overcome anything contrary to the plan of God.

Why did Jesus become a man?

His profound love stands as the primary impetus for His earthly arrival.

Yet, the verse above also signifies His purpose to stand by us during our most arduous trials. Trials, unceasing and diverse, provide the sole arena in which we can demonstrate our true identity as His children.

For instance, consider the times He encountered rejection in His hometown.

Even the Pharisees, who should have embraced Him, withheld their support. Just as He faced challenges from unexpected quarters, we too shall encounter our share of tribulations in manifold forms.

    How should we react?

The optimal and exclusive approach is to find solace in rest. This involves unwinding and acknowledging our companionship.

Even Jesus experienced such moments, and countless individuals worldwide are undergoing similar situations.

Amidst our trials, it’s all too common to believe that no one truly comprehends our feelings. It’s valid that unless someone has encountered precisely the same circumstances (with identical facts), full understanding might elude them.

Yet, in an extraordinary revelation, God, the all-knowing, affirms His understanding in this verse.

    What a comforting affirmation!

Implicitly, this signifies that if we place our faith in God, anxiety can dissipate.

Every temptation or trial faced by Jesus was transient.

Likewise, all the Apostles and exemplary figures of faith in the Bible encountered their share of challenging times. Irrespective of your current predicament, rest assured that God is cognizant. He stands ready to guide you through it, provided you entrust yourself to Him.

To entrust oneself to Him implies placing absolute confidence in His capabilities.

Trust surpasses mere assumption of reliance; it entails complete surrender, firmly believing in our hearts that God can orchestrate positive outcomes even from seemingly adverse circumstances.

Titus 3:5 – “He saved us, not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit.”

Hebrews 4:15-16 – “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

James 3:17 – “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy.”

1 Peter 1:3 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

The whole Bible is full of verses depicting how merciful God is. Are you merciful to others too?

The best book to deal with fear

To deal with fear is not an emotional battle but a purposeful decision regardless of when we feel afraid.

One way is to read a book with practical examples, like this book “Do It Afraid” by Joyce Meyer.

    Book introduction summary

Fear is an omnipresent force, touching every individual’s life. It has existed since time immemorial and will likely persist as long as our planet endures.

While fear wields influence over many, it need not maintain such dominion. Fear, often described as False Evidence Appearing Real, derives its power from the falsehoods instilled by negative forces. These deceptive notions take root within us, fostering trepidation in our hearts and minds.

Although fear’s complete eradication is improbable, its confrontation and conquest are achievable.

True courage doesn’t entail the absence of fear; rather, it entails forging ahead despite fear’s presence.

Those who exhibit courage heed the dictates of their hearts, regardless of their emotions or the doubts and anxieties clouding their thoughts.

A close observation of our responses to people and situations would astonish us with the frequency fear shapes our reactions.

This introspection would also unveil profound insights into our own nature. It’s possible for individuals to expend their entire lives reacting to circumstances in ways that hinder them from realizing their desired selves.

Often, they remain oblivious to the fact that their lives feel unfulfilled because they’ve permitted fear to steer their choices.

My review on how to deal with fear

Easter: Why do Christians celebrate the holiday?

Easter is more than a religious holiday. It’s a symbol of how Jesus Christ, who we believe is God and our Savior, died and then came back to life.

People who trust in Jesus and understand how important his mission was celebrated this day with happiness.

This holiday shows our freedom from sin and our relationship with God.

It’s a time to remember when Jesus rose from the dead to show us how God’s life never ends.

When we will be with God, all of us (true Christians) will have the same amazing and perfect body.

This resurrection gift means we don’t need to fear death or worry about things that are hard to understand in this world.

The things we see now won’t last forever. But if we believe in God, we’ll get to be in heaven, where there’s endless happiness and peace.

There won’t be any more sadness.

    Easter Bible Verses

    Matthew 28:6

He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

    Mark 16:6

And he *said to them, “Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.

    Luke 24:34

saying, “The Lord has really risen and has appeared to Simon.”

    2 Timothy 2:8

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel,

    1 Corinthians 15:20

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.

    Revelation 1:5

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood—

    Revelation 2:8

“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write:The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life, says this:

    Mark 16:14

Afterward, He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.

    John 21:14

This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after He was raised from the dead.

    Acts 1:3

To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.

    Mark 16:9

[Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.

    Acts 10:41

not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.

How does the death of Christ relate to Easter

    Acts 1:22

beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us—one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”

    Acts 4:33

And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.

    Acts 13:37

but He whom God raised did not undergo decay.

    Romans 6:9

knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.

    Romans 10:7

or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”

    Romans 7:4

“Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God”.

Is Easter mentioned in the Bible?

Easter equals the resurrection of Jesus, even though the Bible doesn’t directly use that word.

Since the old testament times, it was known as the Passover Festival.

    Romans 1:4

who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,

    Revelation 1:18

and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

How do you celebrate Easter? In Cameroon, Christians go to church, sing resurrection-related songs, dance, and listen to a sermon about Christ.

    Good Friday Significance

Good Friday is a significant day when devoted Christians express their gratitude for the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross.

He willingly shouldered all punishment and judgment to save us from sin and death.

This day serves as a potent reminder of the depth of His love for us. It also signifies the cost Jesus Christ paid so that we can enjoy true freedom and an abundant life filled with health, success, and blessings according to God’s Word.

Now is the time for us to approach Him with everything we need. Are you seeking healing in any area of your life?

Whether it’s physical, emotional, or a relational challenge, Jesus is the answer. He’s our Lord and has paid the complete price for everything concerning our past, present, and future.

Each stripe He bore on His body is meant to shield us. His suffering was for our healing (Isa. 53:4–5).

His broken body makes us entirely whole. Isn’t that incredible?

May this Good Friday be a celebration for you. Personally, it’s a day of immense gratitude for me.

Let’s choose to remember this incredible gift that Jesus sacrificed His life to give us!

Here are some Bible verses about Good Friday to aid in meditation.

    Bible Verses about Good Friday

    1 Peter 2:24

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

    Mark 9:31

For he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.”

    Mark 10:34

And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.”

    Isaiah 53:5

But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

    Romans 5:6-10

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

    Mark 8:31

And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again.

    Matthew 12:40

For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Why should you believe in Jesus?

In brief and in detail, the reason to believe is that only Jesus possesses eternal life.

“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:14–15

    Acts 16:31

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

Believing in Christ is not an option. It is a condition to become a true Christian.

    Hebrew 11:6

“And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

God has revealed himself to us because he wants us to trust him. We have everything around us as examples of his love and presence. So believing in Him is acknowledging he is the only God.

    Isaiah 43:10

“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.

It is God’s will and desire for everyone to go to heaven and spend eternity with him. However, he wants us to choose. That is the sole reason why he gave us willpower. We can decide if we want to go to heaven or hell. Our belief is the only determinant. That is easy, right?

    John 3:18

“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

    Believe quote

    What should you believe in?

Whoever believes. That is all you need to do to step into the inheritance that was purchased for you with the blood of the Son of God. (2 Cor. 5:21).

Believe in the divine exchange, His love, and that all your sins have been punished on the cross, and that through Jesus you have received the gifts of righteousness and eternal life.

Look at John 3:15 again. Tell me, who qualifies for salvation? The Word of God doesn’t say, “Whoever obeys Him perfectly and keeps all His commandments.” It doesn’t say, “Whoever never fails again.” It simply says, “Whoever believes in Him.” Whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. The only action needed on your part is to believe!

    John 10:38

But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”

What happens when you believe in God?

    1 Thessalonians 2:13

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

    1 Timothy 4:10

That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

    Is believe personal?

    John 4:42

They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

No matter how close you are to Christians or consider yourself a churchgoer, it doesn’t mean anything if you don’t personally believe in Christ.

“Sitting in a garage doesn’t make a person a car, so going to church doesn’t make you a Christian. Until you have that firm conviction in your heart who Jesus Christ is, nothing will matter in God’s eyes.”Joyce Meyer (paraphrased)

God doesn’t mind if we have doubts. He is unhappy if we refuse to deny the facts of the things he has said in the Bible and we refuse to accept them. He is willing and ready to assist us to get out of the doubt but we need to surrender to him completely.

    John 20:27

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Now we have no excuse. Heaven and God are waiting for us to act. Today is not late.

    What is grace?

Grace encompasses more than just elegance in movement or politeness; it signifies God’s undeserved favor towards us. This divine favor surpasses human understanding and mirrors the nature of God Himself.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with all of God’s people. Amen.

    Revelation 22:21

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

    Hebrews 4:16

It is the gift of God.

    The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.

    Numbers 6:24-26

The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.

    Psalm 103:8

    Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!

    Isaiah 30:18

For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him.

    2 Chronicles 30:9b

    People walking to Grace church

Grace is the reason for our salvation.

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

    Ephesians 2:4-5

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

    Titus 2:11-12

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

    Ephesians 2:8-9

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.

    2 Timothy 1:9

It is one of God’s names.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

    1 Peter 5:10

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

    2 Corinthians 12:9

    What should we focus on?

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.

    Reasons why you should pray?

Is consistent daily prayer proof of our connection with God? Prayer serves as an ongoing dialogue with the divine that’s essential, regardless of our feelings. To pray is a command from God. That’s why Jesus said “when you pray”.

Even amid the demands of daily life, whether it’s household tasks or work commitments, maintaining a relationship with God through prayer remains crucial.

A thriving Christian life heavily relies on regular communication with God.

The Bible outlines numerous reasons for engaging in prayer, and this article highlights a selection of these purposes.

What does God do after we pray?

God always acts every time we converse with him. It might take a long time before we see the results physically but he hears our thoughts. He listens and will be with us every time irrespective of how we feel.

    2 Chronicles 6:21

Hear the supplications of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.

    Ephesians 1:18

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.

    Jeremiah 29:12

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

    Job 22:27

You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.

    When should we pray?

Late Prophet TB Joshua said, “a break in prayer is a break in faith“. There is no specific time for it.

It is our heart communication with God either by speaking in tongues, singing spiritual songs or using our language to express reverence to God. We also have the rare opportunity to make requests. What a blessing!

    Ephesians 6:18

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Why should we pray for others?

Our prayers can help others in many ways inlcuding preventing them from death. However, there is a limit on what we can invest time for others. Jesus prayed for us so we ought to do the same.

    1 John 5:16

If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.

    John 17:15

My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

    James 5:13

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.

    How should we pray?

Believing is the key. When we have it, God responds in his time and his unique way.

    Mark 11:24

24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
